The population of college students who are also parents (parenting students) is quickly growing across U.S. campuses, yet little is known about their experiences of balancing educational demands with the demands of parenting. Understanding the challenges and barriers that parenting students face is important to ensuring their ability to enroll in, persist at, and graduate with their degree.
Dr. Meshelemiah leads Research and Creative Strategic Plan workgroup
As part of the initiatives outlined in the Research and Creative Strategic Plan, a workgroup led by Jacquelyn Meshelemiah, associate vice provost for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, has been exploring ways to increase diversity and inclusion in research and creative expression efforts and ensure that underrepresented and women faculty are provided support at each part of the career cycle.

A new BET docuseries "Boiling Point" examines moments of injustice throughout Black American history and their commonalities, starting with the Rodney King beating and its fallout. One of the experts interviewed for the series is Hasan Kwame Jeffries, who is an associate professor of history at The Ohio State University.
