ODI units host several events during month of February

The month of February has been a busy one for ODI and its programs. From painting to dancing to conference travel, ODI Scholars and staff have been prioritizing their mental and physical health and growing as leaders over the last few weeks.

In mid-February, over a dozen students traveled with the Latine Student Success Center to the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute in Chicago. They participated in leadership sessions alongside 3,000 students from 28 states and also had the opportunity to meet The Ohio State University alum Cid Wilson, the President and CEO of the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility.

On February 18, the Hale Black Cultural Center hosted a Trap and Paint event for United Black World Month. Artist Sir'Ra led an interactive guided painting session with an emphasis on self care, empowerment, and self-love.

The following weekend, the HBCC also hosted "Dance Like Hale," an African dance session with live drummers led by Candace Igeleke. Attendees fueled their bodies with good food and physical movement to promote wellness and honor Dr. Frank W. Hale Jr.'s legacy.
