The program provides a performance-based stipend to participants for activities associated with promoting students’ success. Some activities that qualify for a performance-based stipend:

LSAMP Scholars Spotlight

Spring 2023 Sinclair LSAMP Graduates
  • Aimable Kzintwari served three years in the LSAMP program
    • Post-graduation endeavors: To pursue a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Dayton
  • Nicole Owino served three years in the LSAMP program
    • Post-graduation endeavors: To pursue a bachelor’s degree in biology at Wright State University
  • Nevaeh Melton, served three years in the LSAMP program
    • Post-graduation endeavors: To pursue a Bachelor of Science in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at The Ohio State University
  • Tarez Gray, served two years in the LSAMP program
    • Post-graduation endeavors: To pursue a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering at the University of Dayton
Summer 2023 Interns
  • Abdelqadar Radhwan successfully completed his summer undergraduate research assignment at the University of Dayton. Abdelqadar conducted research under the supervision of Dr. Thomas Williams that focused on molecular mechanisms that translate Drosophila Melanogaster genetic variation into overt phenotypic variation. The purpose of this research is to better understand the causes of individuality and evolutionary novelty. Abdelqadar made substantial contributions to Dr. Williams’ lab during summer 2023 and was  invited to continue his research in fall 2023 with the support of Sinclair-LSAMP.
  • Ryann Crockett successfully completed her undergraduate research assignment in the Knowledge and Semantic Technologies Laboratory at Wright State University. Under the supervision of Dr. Cogan Matthew Shimizu, Ryann was able to gain first-hand experience using methods for exploring large and complex data sets. Some of the methods that Ryann explored include statistical pattern recognition, multivariate data analysis, modeling and simulation, and scientific visualization. Ryann gained significant insight into the field of data science and analytics and developed transferable skills in computer programming.
