The Frank W. Hale, Jr. Black Cultural Center Lunch and Learn aims to connect students and attendees with the research being done by Ohio State’s talented staff and faculty in an accessible way.
The featured speaker for this lunch and learn is Greg Wilson, PhD, Associate Professor in the John Glenn College of Public Affairs, presenting “The Racialized Nonprofit Industrial Complex.”
In this presentation, Dr. Wilson explains how Black-led nonprofit organizations are especially affected by capitalism and systemic racism compared to other organizations. As a result, the nonprofit organizations which are integral to historically Black communities are unable to be as effective in making a positive impact. In closing, Dr. Wilson will challenge the industry, and us, to consider ways to encourage equity in nonprofit organizations which will allow Black-led organizations to support their communities to their fullest potential.
All Ohio State students, staff, and faculty are welcome to attend.
