Latine Student Success

The Latine Student Success (LSS) team works to cultivate Latine-centered communities for academic, social and professional support. LSS welcomes all students who want to engage with their peers in strengths-based leadership development and skill building with a Latine focus. Participate in collaborative and community-based projects, in mentoring or service activities, or just drop in to connect with us. LSS is here to serve the students, staff and faculty of Ohio State.

Leadership Development

We partner with UnidosUS to deliver the Avanzando Through College Leadership Program, a series of culturally-relevant workshops and activities on study skills, public speaking and relationship-building with professors and advisors. Cultural conversations and community-building activities are interwoven throughout the institute.

Latine Early Arrival Program

The Latine Early Arrival Program prepares first-year students for university life by providing educational and resourceful workshops, engaging presentations, and team-building activities, using use a strengths-based and culturally responsive approach to four core themes: academic success, empowerment, wellbeing, and service.

Avanzando Through College (ATC)

The ATC leadership program is aimed at equipping students with the skills, information and support systems to successfully navigate their first year of college and set them on a path for academic and professional success. Students with financial need will receive a $500 stipend upon completion of the program.
