YSP Summer Overnight Programs

YSP offers summer residential (overnight) programs introducing scholars to the Ohio State Columbus campus. While on campus, scholars meet faculty and staff, campus administrators and current YSP Scholars who promote student success and retention. Scholars are also given opportunities to explore various college majors and careers while being fully exposed to the Columbus community.

Wellness Retreat

This four-day Leadership and Wellness Summit is designed to empower students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to become resilient, empathetic leaders who contribute positively to their local and school communities. Through a holistic approach, the summit aims to foster personal growth, strengthen interpersonal relationships and cultivate a culture of inclusivity and well-being, ultimately equipping Scholars with the tools they need to thrive academically and personally as they take on leadership roles within their everyday lives.

Through the Leadership and Wellness Summit, rising high school sophomores will:

YSP ASPIRE

YSP ASPIRE is a week-long residential program for rising high school juniors. ASPIRE leverages the established partnerships between The Ohio State University, the Young Scholars Program and community stakeholders to provide students with academic and experience-based learning in their selected career pathways. The six YSP ASPIRE Institutes include Arts, Business, Education and Social Work, Engineering, Health Sciences, and Pre-Law. The program experience increases students' career-path knowledge and aids in building their career capital for future success.

Samuel DuBois Cook Summer Academy

Summer Academy is designed specifically for scholars entering their senior year. Summer Academy focuses on the college admissions process. Workshops include working on the Common App, assessing student mathematics readiness for college and mathematics counseling, Faculty Mixers, meetings with university academic advisors and major departments, and exploring university programs and student support services.
