Eligibility
To be eligible to participate in LSAMP programming, students must:
- Be an underrepresented minority as described by the LSAMP program description (African American, Hispanic, American Indian, Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian, Native Pacific Islander)
- Be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or permanent resident of the U.S. or its possessions
- Be enrolled at a participating institution in an undergraduate major in a STEM discipline and/or an area within the LSAMP CIP Code
LSAMP Programming
- Advisement and counseling
- Bridge and early arrival programs
- Tutoring and supplemental instruction
- Peer mentoring
- Faculty mentoring
- Undergraduate research
- Social activities
- Workshops and activities for academic and professional development
- Conference and travel opportunities
Stipends
Students who are selected to be LSAMP Scholars will receive stipends for their participation in LSAMP programming.
LSAMP Early Arrival Program
- Selected students are required to attend the LSAMP Early Arrival Program.
- Ohio State LSAMP Scholars are selected from the incoming class of admitted students.
Selection Criteria
Selection for either the Early Arrival Program or for new second- or third-year students is based on program eligibility and responses to the following questions:
- What are your career aspirations?
- How will the LSAMP Program assist you in reaching your career aspiration(s)?
