The Diversity & Inclusion Technology Internship Program

The Diversity & Inclusion Technology Internship Program connects college students across all majors with some of the most innovative companies in Ohio! Companies are looking for all skill sets, ranging from marketing and communications to graphic design, software development, data analytics, engineering, and cybersecurity.

Fall Semester 2021 Paid Internship Job Opportunity

The internship requires an independent worker who takes a great deal of pride in work product, asks great questions, and seeks to work in a fast-paced, values-driven organization. The intern will have the ability to gain valuable real-world skills, as well as begin to build a portfolio of work, all while meeting some very committed, active community leaders.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Support candidate events (Zoom and in person) including logistics support, planning, and execution;
  • Assist in our candidate endorsement process, including candidate research, copyediting, and revising presentation of candidate recommendations organization review; support for endorsement committee meetings with candidates as needed;
  • Research on our previously-endorsed candidates and policies and legislation they have implemented, etc;
  • Working with staff to draft member communications and social media posts; and
  • Create graphics for the organization.

If the intern has graphic design, photography/videography, or business/finance skills – we will add duties as appropriate to leverage those skills.

Intern will be required to supply and use her/his own laptop during internship.

PwC Non-Profit Consulting Remote Externship

In this externship program, you will learn strategic consulting skills to analyze and evaluate challenges from non-profit organizations using consulting frameworks, in an overall effort to help them solve their important problems. Selected individuals will be paired with a specific non-profit organization and dive into their strategic problems, such as development, impact assessment, policy / regulatory issues, process improvements, talent engagement, communication, and strategic positioning. Throughout this externship program, PwC's professionals will provide mentorship and coaching.

2022 Emma Bowen Foundation (EBF) Internship Program

The Emma Bowen Foundation (EBF) promotes a more diverse industry by recruiting promising students of color like you and placing them in multi-year paid internships at some of the nation's leading media and tech companies, such as Comcast NBCUniversal, Discovery, Hearst Television, the New York Times, the NFL, Spectrum, and ViacomCBS.

You are eligible to apply for an EBF Internship if you meet ALL of the following criteria:

  • Are a student of color (Asian, American Indian/Alaskan Native, Black, Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino, or Multi-Racial)
  • Are a graduating high school senior OR an undergraduate college student (undergraduates graduating in Spring 2022 are eligible to apply)
  • Plan to attend or are currently a student at a four-year accredited college or university
    • This includes students who will transfer to a four-year accredited college or university in Spring 2022 or Fall 2022
  • Have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0
  • Are interested in pursuing a career in media and tech
  • Are a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident
  • Speak and write English fluently
  • Are curious and willing to learn and challenge yourself

Wabtec Corporation LEAD Program

Wabtec's LEAD program is an intensive two year rotational program that develops domain expertise, strategic thinking, business acumen, and leadership skills through a combination of impactful job assignments and top tier curriculum. It is the premier entry point for university graduates and develops participants into the next generation of business leaders.

The LEAD Finance Internship is a 10 week assignment on one Finance team. Options include:

  • Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Commercial Finance
  • Supply Chain Finance
  • Product Finance
  • Investor Relations
  • Treasury
  • Business Development
  • Controllership

Assignments are supplemented with exposure to senior leaders, on program mentors, and ample networking opportunities. Internships are the best path to determine if the LEAD program is right for you full time. Summer 2022 expected locations are Chicago, IL and Pittsburgh, PA.

The Finance track of LEAD is made up of four six month rotations in different Finance domains including:

Digital Skills Peer Mentor

Student Employees in this position will play meaningful roles in forwarding the mission of The Office of Distance Education and eLearning (ODEE), specifically within the Digital Flagship program and related STEM events. Digital Flagship is a comprehensive, university-wide digital learning initiative that supports educational innovation to benefit students and economic development opportunities for the campus and broader community.

The 2021 Graduate and Professional School Expo will be held virtually on Wednesday, October 6, 2021.

The Columbus Boys and Young Men of Color (BYMOC) Collective

The Columbus Boys and Young Men of Color (BYMOC) Collective is seeking student employees for the 2021-2022 school year. The BYMOC Collective is a partnership between Columbus City Council and The Ohio State University's Bell National Resource Center on the African American Male (BNRC). The goal of this work is to engage BYMOC and key stakeholders to develop/implement policy and practice changes that close the long-standing systemic gaps they disproportionately experience. This initiative will serve as the citywide backbone organization to convene, align, and provide technical assistance to our city's BYMOC-serving programs and organizations.

The BYMOC Collective is co-led by Dr. James L. Moore III, who is internationally recognized for his research and work with BYMOC at the BNRC, and Dr. Keisha J. Hunley-Jenkins, Esq., Assistant Director and Community Lead for BYMOC Collective at the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
