Reimagining the Student Experience (RiSE)

The RiSE Initiative helps students who come to The Ohio State University by way of transfer (JLM Scholars Program), campus change (RCT Scholars Program), or who have lived experience in foster care, kinship care, or another out-of-home placement (FAN Scholars).

FAN provides support for students with lived experience in foster care, kinship care, or any out-of-home placement.

JLM works to support transfer students from Columbus State Community College.

RCT supports students transitioning to the Columbus campus from one of Ohio State's regional campuses.

ODI RiSE hosts its My Very Own Blanket-Making event

Student members of OSU’s RiSE (Reimagining the Student Experience) Initiative got together for their first blanket-making event in November. The students, some of whom have lived experience in foster care, created 50 fleece blankets. Chaka Wilson, RiSE Program Manager said, Our first MVOB blanket-making event was a success. We met our goal of 50 blankets, and we look forward to our event this spring.”
