ODI Diversity Career Fair connects students and employers

In the midst of the swirling conversations at the ODI Diversity Career Fair, Rain Taylor stood quietly as she carefully marked up her program, listing the locations of the 80 companies on hand. "I only have a limited number of resumes left," said the fourth-year economics major and Young Scholar. "So now I'm being strategic."

Students explore Nashville’s history and industry on CRISP Spring Break

Nashville is the home of country music, but the nearly two dozen ODI Scholars and international students who traveled there over Spring Break found much more. During the five-day trip, hosted by the OIA Global Engagement department and ODI CRISP unit, students explored the connections between Nashville’s entertainment industry and social justice, delved into the city’s history, and connected with local industry professionals.

ODI Career Fair expands to serve more students

A crowd of nearly 200 company representatives and as many as 500 students registered to put their best foot forward for the ODI Diversity Career Fair.

The career fair ran from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 17 at Ohio Stadium with a Diversity Networking Mixer at the Blackwell Hotel kicking things off in the morning with 33 companies.

ODI Scholars mine Career Fair for job and internship opportunities

It may have been a dark and stormy night outside, but inside the rooms were abuzz with warm conversation as scores of corporate recruiters and students mingled at the ODI Career Day event at Ohio Stadium on October 18.

Nearly 80 companies and more than 200 ODI Scholars participated in the evening networking event held in the suite area of the iconic Horseshoe. As recruiters in company pullovers stood behind tables loaded with swag—Cintas coozie anyone?—students armed with fresh resumes sought to make a sharp impression in professional attire.

50 years of touching lives: Rose Wilson-Hill retires from ODI

Be better than good.

That four-word mantra—passed down from strict but loving Bermudian parents—has been the north star guiding the essential work done by Rose Wilson-Hill on behalf of diversity and inclusion efforts at The Ohio State University over the past half century.

A living link to the origins of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Wilson-Hill—who retired as the director of administration special projects on January 1—came to the university in 1971 alongside Dr. Frank Hale, an iconic figure who had landed a new position as associate dean of The Graduate School.
