YSP with state of Ohio

Janeisha Finch has a wealth of knowledge of the Young Scholars Program (YSP), and for more than 10 years, she has successfully supported and assisted over 100 scholars with transiting from Dayton Public Schools to The Ohio State University. A recent graduate of The Women’s Place Staff Leadership Series, Janeisha is also a current member of the Public Policy, Emerging Leaders Program. Janeisha will serve as a liaison to the executive director of the Young Scholars Program and take a major leadership role among the city program coordinators.

Nearing her 10-year mark with YSP, Tiffany Payiavlas has been the cornerstone of student success in Youngstown, Ohio. Her ongoing dedication and coaching has supported access to The Ohio State University for approximately 60 students. Tiffany also is currently a participant of the Public Policy, Emerging Leaders Program, which offers a breath of knowledge related to the barriers faced by Young Scholars. Like Janeisha, Tiffany will serve as a liaison to the executive director of the Young Scholars Program.

Chilla Thomas, Amira Fruits, Tuerei Williams, and Alvian Williams just had a presentation accepted at the 2019 Ohio ACT State Organization Conference, scheduled on January 29 & 30, 2019 at the Renaissance Columbus Downtown. Their presentation is titled, “Dreams Achieved: A Candid Conversation about Navigating Higher Education.”
