YSP Represents at Denman
On April 3, 2018, two Young Scholars, Candace Cooper (above left) and Suhaib Abudulwahed, (above, right) participated in the Richard J. and Martha D. Denman Undergraduate Research Forum. Held at the Ohio Union, the Denman Undergraduate Research Forum, coordinated by the Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Inquiry, provides an opportunity for undergraduate students in all disciplines to showcase their research, scholarship, and creative activities with The Ohio State University community and beyond.
Suhaib, who is a sophomore majoring in Neuroscience, conducted a research presentation is entitled “Optical Mapping to Define Functional Features of human Reentrant Atrial Fibrillation Driver Regions in Explanted Human Hearts.”
Candace, a senior majoring in Social Work, conducted a research presentation entitled “Intersectionality of Race and Gender in Higher Education: The Plight of the African-American Woman at a Predominantly White Institution,” and will be pursuing her Master’s degree in Social Work at Ohio State in the fall of 2018.
The Denman Undergraduate Research Forum is generously supported by Mr. and Mrs. Denman, the Office of Research at The Ohio State University, the Office of Undergraduate Education at The Ohio State University, as well as corporate and private donors. Each year, hundreds of undergraduate students have the opportunity to present their research in poster and oral presentations.
