Young Scholar Rey Velázquez selected to AAHHE Undergraduate Fellowship Program

Rey Velázquez was among 15 undergraduate students selected nationwide to the AAHHE Undergraduate Fellowship Program. Rey, who is majoring in Human Development and Family Science, is a Young Scholar and also is a student assistant for Latine Student Success.

The primary goal of the inaugural ETS/AAHHE Undergraduate Fellowship Program (UFP) is to increase Latina/o/x undergraduate students' knowledge and understanding of post-baccalaureate options and career readiness through workshops and professionalization. Towards this end, program sub-goals include to:

  • Provide strategies to assist fellows in achieving their academic and professional goals
  • Expose undergraduate student fellows to the importance of research
  • Build a community and network of Latina/o/x mentors and scholars
