Rey Velázquez was among 15 undergraduate students selected nationwide to the AAHHE Undergraduate Fellowship Program. Rey, who is majoring in Human Development and Family Science, is a Young Scholar and also is a student assistant for Latine Student Success.
The primary goal of the inaugural ETS/AAHHE Undergraduate Fellowship Program (UFP) is to increase Latina/o/x undergraduate students' knowledge and understanding of post-baccalaureate options and career readiness through workshops and professionalization. Towards this end, program sub-goals include to:
- Provide strategies to assist fellows in achieving their academic and professional goals
- Expose undergraduate student fellows to the importance of research
- Build a community and network of Latina/o/x mentors and scholars
