The Scholarship and Supplemental Academic Services (S-SAS) unit of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion will host the inaugural Success in STEMM Week from Monday, October 18, 2021, to Thursday, October 21, 2021. With various events and programs, students will have an opportunity to engage with current students, alumni, and faculty who have found great success in the world of STEMM. Each event session will provide students with knowledge and resources to make their goals in the world of science, technology, engineering, math, and medicine a reality. Below is a schedule of events, with each requiring registration for attendance.

- Ask an Expert! – How To Succeed in STEMM Coursework Student Panel

Have you found yourself struggling to understand your coursework and succeed in your STEMM classes? You are not alone! Please join us for a panel discussion with four current Ohio State students who serve as peer tutors/educators and have found great success in their collegiate journey. Panelists will share their expertise, experiences, advice, and tips for gaining confidence and success in STEMM coursework.

- STEMM Research Opportunities Within Your Reach – How to Get Involved in Faculty Led Research
Wednesday, October 20, 2021 | 1:00 p.m.
In collaboration with the Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Inquiry, this forum will highlight the ways students can engage in faculty-led research during their undergraduate journey. The event will begin with a presentation that outlines how to communicate with faculty, how to get connected with faculty, and how to turn your research ideas into reality.
The second half of the event will be an opportunity for students to engage in dialogue with Dr. David A. Delaine, Assistant Professor in the College of Engineering Education. Read below to learn more about Dr. Delaine and his current research efforts.
Dr. David A. Delaine is an Assistant Professor in The Ohio State University Department of Engineering Education. He strives to creatively impact diversity and inclusion through investigating the intersections of engineering, education, and society.
Dr. Delaine is also the leader of The Inclusive Community-Based Learning Lab. The lab is performing research on collaborative processes within informal educational settings for the development of socially responsible engineering citizens. - Dinner With the (Future) Docs – A Roundtable Discussion on Life as Doctoral Students in Health and Medicine
Thursday, October 21, 2021 | 6:00 p.m.
Calling all aspiring physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other health-related professionals to join us for a virtual roundtable discussion. Through interactive breakout rooms, participants will have an opportunity to bring their own dinner and learn from current pharmacy, medical, and nursing doctoral students.
