The Ohio State University Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) is one of the oldest and most prominent offices of its kind in the nation. Founded in 1970, ODI has supported the recruitment, retention and success of students, faculty and staff who enhance the diversity of The Ohio State University. The Office of Diversity and Inclusion oversees the Hale Center, the Todd Anthony Bell National Resource Center on the African American Male, the American Disability Act program (ADA), the nine-city Young Scholars Program, as well as being home to a wide-range of retention, mentoring, scholarship, and access programs.
STEP is designed to focus on student success and development and will allow students the opportunity to engage in activities that cater to their individual interests and needs. Through interaction with faculty, students will be able to develop tools for life and build essential network connections. By fulfilling the program requirements, students will be eligible to receive a fellowship of up to $2,000 to use towards an experience they might otherwise not be able to do.
The Office of Undergraduate Research & Creative Inquiry promotes research opportunities for undergraduates by supporting students at all stages of research involvement. The office encourages hands-on inquiry through a diverse schedule of activities, including information sessions, panel discussions, and workshops, plus a comprehensive website, weekly newsletters, and one-on-one student advising. The OUR&CI also sponsors poster forums like the annual Denman Undergraduate Research Forum, distributes funding, and assists faculty who want to recruit undergraduate assistants for their research projects.
