STEM Student Resource Fair

STEM resource fair participant talks with university unit

Students majoring in STEM fields at The Ohio State University were given the opportunity to interact with various academic and support units and student organizations across the university. The STEM Resource Fair provided a chance for students to connect with campus resources that are essential to their academic success, scholarly achievement, and professional growth.

The inaugural STEM Resource Fair was the brainchild of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion’s Ohio Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) and brought together over 100 STEM field students, faculty, and staff. “There are so many resources available to STEM students at Ohio State. Having them all in one room to present information and connect students to those resources will go a long way to helping our STEM students succeed,” said Tyler Cole, Ohio LSAMP Alliance Program Manager, who initiated the event.

Also included during the fair were concurrent ten minute information sessions presented by Resource Fair participants that highlighted resources and services within their departments. The sessions were videotaped, said Dr. Barbara Fink, Ohio LSAMP Alliance Director, who added, “Not only did the Resource Fair benefit Ohio State STEM students, but since the sessions will be online, they will benefit students at the other LSAMP Alliance institutions as well.”
