ODI mourns loss of Morrill Scholar

memorial for Corey Bias

January 21, 2020

Dear Ohio State Family:

As vice provost for Diversity and Inclusion and chief diversity officer, I write to share with you the loss of Corey Bias, a third-year, political science student and recipient of the highly-acclaimed Morrill Scholarship Program (MSP), and offer sincere condolences to his family, friends, and supporters at The Ohio State University and beyond.

Corey was loved and respected by his fellow Morrill Scholars and those individuals, on-campus and off-campus, who had the pleasure to meet and closely interact with him. His sudden loss is heartbreaking to all who knew him. Please know that if you are in need of support during the grieving process, Mr. Peter A. Oduwole, LPC, an Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) embedded therapist, is available in Hale Hall this week. You may also reach out to the MSP staff or contact Counseling and Consultation Services via telephone at 614-292-5766.

Once again, our thoughts and prayers are with Corey's family, friends, and supporters, including his fellow Morrill Scholars and political science students, faculty, and colleagues. In ODI, especially in MSP, he will be greatly missed.

Sincerely,

James Moore signature
