MSP honored at Central Ohio’s Social Justice Awards
The Office of Diversity and Inclusion is honored to announce that its Morrill Scholarship Program has been selected by the Think Make Live Youth Advisory Board Members as the 2020 recipient of its Education Advocacy - Organization in Higher Education.
The Morrill Scholarship Program (MSP) is Ohio State's premier diversity/merit scholarship program, rewarding academically talented students who are actively engaged in diversity-based leadership, service and social justice activities.
While MSP students shine in the classroom, many also serve as student ambassadors or champions of diversity and scholarship on campus and in their home communities. Given their interest in social justice, MSP students can often be found on the front lines of the fight for social change. Currently, MSP students are working with child, teen and adult survivors of human trafficking, participating in a peer mentoring program for incarcerated youth, and working to close the educational achievement gap by fighting for educational equity in Ohio's K-12 system. Other have canvassed the community in search of signatures for The Ohio Neighborhood Safety, Drug Treatment, and Rehabilitation Amendment and have participated in the student-led March for Our Lives protest and the Women's March.
