The MESA: Leadership Institute is a semester-long student empowerment program centralized around four core themes: Mentorship, Empowerment, Service, and Academic Success.

Generally, the Leadership Institute partners a small cohort of first-year Latinx students with peer mentors and provides evidence-based workshops on social, academic, and professional success.

Throughout the autumn semester, mentees will receive biweekly mentoring sessions with their upper-class mentor, semester academic success coaching, and partake in leadership development workshops. There will also be opportunities for students to participate in team-building activities, social gatherings, cultural events, study tables, and more!

Workshop topics include:

  • Leadership Development

  • Academic Success

  • Personal Growth

  • Extracurricular Activities

  • Cultural Diversity

  • Post-College Preparation and Professional Development
