LSAMP Students Prepare for Success with the Guaranteed 4.0 Learning System

In collaboration with the College of Arts and Sciences, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion offered the LSAMP Scholars the Guaranteed 4.0 Learning System on September 20, 2014. Dr. Donna O. Johnson, founder of the Guaranteed 4.0, delivered the workshop on a system designed to enhance academic performance for all students. The focus of Guaranteed 4.0 is not on how to study but rather how to be “on-plan” for success. Donna developed a system – based on learning theory, brain science, and time management – which suggests that earning the best grade is about learning efficiency. The Guaranteed 4.0 Learning System improving reading comprehension to 80-95% using strategies referred to as bullet point reading, bullet point notes, and bullet point concepts.

The LSAMP Scholars and other students from the College of Arts and Sciences participated in the four-hour workshop where they practiced the techniques of the Guaranteed 4.0 Learning System. The second part of the workshop, which was for staff, taught staff from the College of Arts and Sciences, Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Columbus State Community College, Cuyahoga Community College, Miami University, and Wilberforce University how to help students stay “on-plan” with the Guaranteed 4.0 Learning System.
