LSAMP) Student Organization

Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) Student Organization

The purpose of the LSAMP student organization is to encourage, promote and retain minority students in STEM fields by hosting one social event and one service event per month for LSAMP scholars.

The student organization is open to all LSAMP scholars, as well as all other students from historically underrepresented groups (i.e., African Americans, Alaskan Natives, American Indians, Hispanic Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Native Pacific Islanders), who are working toward degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). In other words, students do not need to be LSAMP scholars in order to be involved with the student organization or attend the organization's events.

The LSAMP student organization meets weekly, on Monday nights, from 6:00pm-7:00pm, via Zoom.

Meetings focus on a variety of topics related to professional development, community building, or discussion about other resources or opportunities. Previous meeting topics have included undergraduate research, study tips, networking and resume advice, and game nights!
