LASER is involved with the university's Humanities and Cognitive Sciences High School Summer Institute (HumCog), a week-long summer program that provides a critical thinking forum for accelerated high school students to study the correlation between brain sciences and the humanities.
LASER has partnered with Columbus’ Lead The Way Learning Academy, a year-round center that offers after school enrichment programs for K-8th graders. This partnership allows LASER to identify future high school Scholars, provide opportunities for younger siblings of current LASER scholars, and host family-oriented events on campus such as our popular Pan Dulce Noches.
LASER has been working with I.M.P.A.C.T. to increase Spanish language training for healthcare providers and interpreters in order improve the quality of service to Latinx patients.
Power of Poetry and Wellspring Imagination offers a three day poetry workshop for high school students and offers scholarships for LASER High School Scholars.
Ohio State Centers
The Center for Latin American Studies (CLAS) at The Ohio State University has a primary mission of serving, facilitating and stimulating the intellectual needs of the faculty and students involved in Latin American studies, in order to foster cutting edge instruction and research on Latin American languages, cultures, societies, histories, politics, economics, and the arts.
The Diversity & Identity Studies Collective at OSU (DISCO) is an interdisciplinary and university-wide project that seeks to coordinate and foster collaboration among a number of departments and academic programs that focus on aspects of diverse identities.
The Student Life Multicultural Center (MCC) offers several hundred programs a year - cultural and intercultural celebrations, heritage and awareness events, dialogues, workshops, student leadership and cohort meetings, prejudice-reduction trainings, wellness initiatives and Social Justice Engagement courses - focused on teaching skills necessary to be effective in a diverse world.

University Libraries Latin American Studies has a vast amount of resources available in The Ohio State University's library under the purview of librarian Pamela Espinosa de los Monteros.
The P12 Inititative connects Ohio State to community youth organizations and is a great resource for Ohio State summer camp information and other local youth programming.
Pages pairs educators from the Wexner Center with high school teachers across central Ohio to plan experiential learning opportunities for students that support literacy and writing skills. The students will visit the Center to experience a contemporary art exhibition, a performing arts show, and a film and will respond to those experiences in journal entries, prose, and poetry.
