LASER Scholar to attend
Art Academy of Cincinnati residency

Alexis ReyesLASER high school student Alexis Reyes has received funding to attend a three-week residency at the Art Academy of Cincinnati.

The program is designed for high school juniors, seniors and recent graduates who are preparing for a college level art program. The Portfolio Preparation program strengthens students’ portfolios while introducing them to career choices in the visual arts. Students will participate in Studio Art classes that include: Drawing Painting, Illustration, Photography, Sculpture, Design, Print Media, Animation, Film/Video, and Art History, taught by AAC BFA and CE faculty. The course includes studio tours, gallery visits, and workplace exposure and culminates in a final review with the AAC Admissions team.

Alexis was selected based on two pieces of submitted artwork as well as a statement of why he thought this course will benefit his future artistic goals.

The residency runs from July 11-29, 2016.
