ODI Scholars Program 2014 Welcome Celebration
On the eve of Autumn Semester, the Office of Diversity and Inclusions’ ODI Scholars Program welcomed the new ODI Scholars to the ODI family. Over 300 students attended the Welcome Celebration. Joining the Morrill Scholars and Young Scholars were students affiliated with the Bell National Resource Center, Campus Change, Latino and Latin American Space for Enrichment and Research (LASER), the Latino Leadership Development Institute (LLDI); the Ohio Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) and Upward Bound.
The program for the ODI Scholars Class of 2018 included informative talks about the academic enrichment opportunities and support services. Dr. Valerie B. Lee, Vice Provost for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and Chief Diversity Office, and Dr. James L. Moore III, Associate Provost for Diversity and Inclusion and Director of the BNRC offered welcome and inspirational remarks.
The students received ODI Scholars class of 2018 t-shirts and wrist bands. Five students won gift cards to Barnes and Nobles.
The purpose of the ODI Scholars Program is to enhance the academic life of ODI Scholars through leadership, research, education abroad and service opportunities; enrich the campus community; and enable ODI Scholars to be better prepared for on-going education and career experiences.
