Enriching the graduate and professional student experience
For one day in August, new and returning Ohio State University graduate students will have the chance to talk to fellow graduate students and to meet faculty members and staff during the 47th Annual Graduate & Professional Student Orientation & Networking Reception.
Hosted by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and graduate and professional student organizations, the August 23rd event features a speaker, a graduate and professional student panel, greetings from students and time to learn about life at Ohio State, including both formal and informal support groups. The event provides an opportunity to make contacts that will be beneficial during graduate and professional school and beyond.
Some of the students at the reception visited the university previously during ODI’s Graduate and Professional Student Recruitment Initiative (GPS). Potential graduate and professional students come to Ohio State for two days in October for departmental visits with faculty, administrators and graduate and professional students, and various workshops.
Competitive applicants for GPS have a college GPA of 3.5 or higher and were either a participant of a targeted pipeline program or nominated by an Ohio State academic unit, which will make all final invite decisions.
