Cuevas is an L.A-based multimedia artist who works in the areas of fiber arts, performance and installation. Influenced by feminist and queer theory, he often explores the theme of embodiment from his perspective as a queer, HIV-positive person of color. Cuevas is well-known for his intricate and anatomically-accurate knitted sculptures, which allude to discourse on the body, illness and to traditional notions of women's craft.
