Paola EchaveLASER Hub Mentor
I am currently a fourth-year graduate student in the department of Sociology at The Ohio State University. My areas of interest are immigration and health. I joined LASER because I want to contribute to the development of programs and opportunities that young Latinx individuals can benefit from. I am originally from Bolivia and came to the US when I was 18 years old. The process of adapting to this new culture was difficult and overwhelming. Unfortunately, I did not have access to resources or outreach programs like LASER. I do not want other young immigrants to experience the same obstacles I did, so I believe that being part of LASER can allow me to work with amazing people who also seek to reach the lives of young Latinx individuals and help them shape their journeys to success.
