Black Fine Art Fair of Ohio: November 12-14, 2021

KBK Foundation has initiated the Black Fine Art Fair of Ohio to showcase the importance of Black Fine Art as an investment and as an expression of Black culture. KBK Foundation selected Golden Galleries as their co-host based upon their superior reputation and long-standing history in the Black Fine Art community. We have included several reputable galleries and purveyors of Black Fine Art from around the country to participate in this first Black Fine Art Fair of Ohio. Also, several African American artists will be involved to showcase their latest artwork. There will be multiple lectures at this event to educate the community about Black Fine Art including collecting art, portfolio development, appraisals, and other aspects of this segment of visual art.

KBK Foundation is a 501(c) organization founded in 2010 with a mission to support economic development, community development, social services and the arts in the communities that we serve. KBK Foundation is committed to “bridging today's realities with tomorrow's possibilities.” As it relates to Black art, we believe it tells our authentic narrative. Learning about Black art and Black artists will help to produce positive images of the Black community, thus leading to the resistance of race-based negativity and biases.

The Ohio State University's Office of Diversity and Inclusion/Frank W. Hale, Jr. Black Cultural Center, Office of Student Life, and the Alumni Association/Black Alumni Society are the strategic partners for this event. The Ohio State University has a long history of supporting Black Fine Art: the Hale Black Cultural Center located in Hale Hall has one of the largest collections of Black Fine Art in the country; Samella Lewis, the first Black PhD in Fine Art in the country, earned her PhD at The Ohio State University; as well as other activities supporting Black Fine Art within various university departments. The Ohio State strategic partners involved are committed to furthering the exposure of Black Fine Art throughout Ohio's 88 counties and surrounding communities through the Black Fine Art Fair of Ohio. The Black Fine Art Fair of Ohio is KBK Foundation's signature event, and it's their plan to provide access to Black Fine Art for years to come. KBK Foundation's long-term vision is to expand this event to include other expressions of Black art.

The Black Fine Art Fair of Ohio has received support from various corporate and individual donors who have joined KBK Foundation in this effort. The Black Fine Art Fair is opened to the public and will take place November 12 through November 14, 2021. Please contact Keith A.
