Interim Vice Provost James L. Moore III has been invited to become a member of the Department of Engineering Education’s (EED) Inaugural Advisory Board for a two-year term. The mission of the EDD is to advance the engineering profession and enable student success by developing and delivering state-of-the-art, innovative, multidisciplinary engineering courses and programs; by modeling and advocating scholar, evidence-based teaching within the College of Engineering; and by integrating pedagogical discovery practice and dissemination through world-class engineering education research.

The EED Advisory Board provides strategic advice about current and future directions of the EED, using the knowledge of board members who have expertise in academic and nonacademic areas. The Advisory Board is engaging in strategic planning and hiring new faculty to build research and graduate portfolios. It also is seeking ways to maintain excellence in teaching and in the development of undergraduate engineering students.

Participating on the EED Advisory Board will enable Dr. Moore to help shape the integration of engineering with education, humanities, policy, and a limitless number of other disciplines. His term will run from September 1, 2017 through August 31, 2018.
