2015 Champion of Children Report: Boys of Color, Boys at Risk

2015 Champion of Children report cover with two boys on itOn June 24, the Columbus Metropolitan Club held its weekly forum, which focused on the 2015 Champion of Children Report: Boys of Color, Boys at Risk. Panelists who spoke at the forum included United Way’s senior vice president Dawn Tyler Lee; Mo Wright, president and CEO of RAMA Consulting Group; René Olate, assistant professor in the Ohio State College of Social Work; Jason Reece, director of research at the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race & Ethnicity; and James L. Moore III, professor in Ohio State’s College of Education and Human Ecology and executive director of the Todd A. Bell National Resource Center on the African American Male.

Based on research directed by the Kirwan Center’s Jason Reece and in collaboration with Community Research Partners, boys of color have greater challenges and more barriers than their peers of other races.
