Pre-Symposium Decription: 

Lindsey Reichlin Cruse of the Institute for Women’s Policy Research will be presenting an intensive session on the findings of the study, Understanding the New College Majority: The Demographic and Financial Characteristics of Independent Students and their Postsecondary Outcomes.  Following Ms. Cruse’s session, participants will get the chance to engage in discussion with staff from a local housing services agency that works with Ohio State and nearby colleges to provide housing services to student parents. The day will end with an on-site tour of the Columbus Scholar House (income-based housing for college parenting students), in which participants will have the opportunity to tour the on-site childcare facilities, apartments, and learn more about the programming provided by OSU’s ACCESS Collaborative Program.
