Office of Diversity and Inclusion Hall of Fame Award
The Ohio State University Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) Hall of Fame award honors members of the Ohio State community who have contributed through exemplary and sustained leadership the ideals of diversity, equity, inclusion, and community engagement. Nominees for the ODI Hall of Fame Award should demonstrate outstanding achievements and contributions in the community and/or the private, non-profit, and public sector. Nominees should be dedicated agents of change, advocating for and impacting the lives of individuals from marginalized or minoritized groups.Awards may also be given posthumously.
2023 HALL OF FAME NOMINATIONS WERE ACCEPTED FROM AUGUST 1-31, 2022.
Award Criteria

Nominees should have demonstrated a strong past or present connection with the university, including but not limited to being an alumnus of The Ohio State University.

Nominees should exemplify ODI's core values of inclusive excellence, collaboration, respect and civility, leadership and partnerships, and promoting social and economic justice and equity.

In addition, nominees should have demonstrated two or more of the following criteria:

Broken historical barriers as pioneers in their given field.

Recognized as a transformative figure in the community and/or the private or public sector.

Displays personal courageousness or altruism so remarkable as to set the person apart from others across the country.

Exhibits innovative and insightful leadership that challenges major societal inequities through avenues such as strategic decision-making, allocation of resources, and establishment of priorities.

Makes a significant and sustained contribution in advancing diversity and inclusion through nationally or internationally recognized policies, procedures, and/or programs.
-
Implements effective and highly recognized strategies that address barriers that often exclude or disadvantage historically underrepresented groups.

Recognized as a significant change agent in promoting important humanitarian causes and championing human rights in the private, non-profit and/or public sector.

Nomination Requirements

Nominators must complete an online nomination form.

The online form includes a question asking the nominator to write a supporting statement of not more than 500 words on why the prospective honoree should be inducted in the ODI Hall of Fame.
