2019 ODI Homecoming Tailgate

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion welcomed back more than 100 alumni to campus at a tailgate held on Homecoming Weekend prior to the Ohio State-Michigan State football game Saturday, October 5th.

The homecoming tailgate featured an appearance from the 37th African American Homecoming King and Queen—King Nonkoh Nabay and Queen Kennedy Bates—and remarks celebrating the evening from Vice-Provost James L. Moore III as well as alumni society leaders.

As tailgaters munched on pulled pork, mac and cheese, walking tacos and berry cobbler, Dwight Bailey and his musical guests provided a jazzy soundtrack for the festivities. The Hale Hall event was sold out thanks to the efforts of event partners, the Black Alumni Society, Latinx Alumni Society and Young Scholars Program Alumni Society. Tailgate guests enjoyed an afternoon of food, fun and fellowship and then saw the Buckeyes cap the day off by knocking off the Spartans in a commanding 34-10 win.

See you at next year's tailgate!
